Privacy Policy

Who we are
Scanly ("the app", "we", "us") is a document-scanner utility for iOS that turns paper documents, receipts, and photos into searchable PDFs using on-device text recognition. This policy explains how the app handles your information.
Data we collect
None. Scanly does not collect personal data. Specifically:
- We do not have servers, and your scans, documents, and recognized text are never uploaded anywhere.
- We do not require an account, sign-in, or any personal information.
- We do not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
Camera, Photos & Files access
To do its job, Scanly asks your permission to use the camera (to scan pages) and to import images or PDFs you choose from Photos or Files. This access is used solely to capture and process your documents on your device. Optical character recognition (OCR) is performed locally using Apple's on-device Vision framework. No image, page, PDF, or recognized text is ever sent off your device.
Your scanned documents are stored only in Scanly's private storage on your device. You can delete any document at any time from within the app.
Purchases
Scanly offers a one-time, non-subscription in-app purchase ("Scanly Pro") to unlock unlimited documents. Purchases and restores are handled entirely by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple's handling of transactions is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children's privacy
Scanly does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Data retention & security
Because we never collect or transmit your data, there is nothing for us to retain or expose. All app data and documents remain on your device under iOS's standard protections.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
