Understanding Executive Functions
Executive functions are the mental skills that help us plan, focus, remember instructions, and manage multiple tasks. They're essential for:
- Academic success and learning
- Social interactions and relationships
- Daily life management and independence
- Emotional regulation and self-control
Tips for Parents
- Start small: Begin with 1-2 simple missions daily to build the habit
- Review together: Use the Parent Dashboard to discuss progress and celebrate wins
- Be consistent: Daily use, even for short periods, is more effective than occasional long sessions
- Focus on effort: Praise the process of skill-building, not just completion
- Share progress: Export reports to share with teachers, therapists, or other caregivers
