Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 14, 2026

The short version: ReefPilot runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or store any of your data. Your tank logs and everything in them never leave your devices.

Who we are

ReefPilot ("the app", "we", "us") is a reef-aquarium management utility for iOS that helps you track water parameters, calculate dosing, check livestock compatibility, and schedule maintenance. This policy explains how the app handles your information.

Data we collect

None. ReefPilot does not collect personal data. Specifically:

Where your data lives

Everything you enter is stored only in ReefPilot's private storage on your device. The built-in species and chemistry reference data ships inside the app and needs no network connection. You can delete any tank, reading, or record at any time from within the app.

If a future version offers optional iCloud sync, your data is synced through your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit and remains inaccessible to us. iCloud's handling of your data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, ReefPilot schedules local notifications on your device for tests, dosing, and maintenance. These are generated and delivered on-device and are not sent through any server of ours.

Purchases

ReefPilot offers a one-time, non-subscription in-app purchase ("ReefPilot Unlocked"). Purchases and restores are handled entirely by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple's handling of transactions is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy

ReefPilot does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Data retention & security

Because we never collect or transmit your data, there is nothing for us to retain or expose. All app data remains on your device under iOS's standard protections.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
