Privacy Policy

The short version: Lunara runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or store any of your personal health data. Your cycle logs never leave your iPhone.

Who we are

Lunara ("the app", "we", "us") is a private period and cycle tracker for iOS. It helps you log your cycle, symptoms, and mood — and optionally sync across your own devices via iCloud — entirely without an account or any connection to our servers. This policy explains how the app handles your information.

Data we collect

None. Lunara does not collect personal data. Specifically:

We do not have servers of our own. Your cycle data, symptoms, and logs are never uploaded to us.
We do not require an account, email, or any personal information.
We do not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
We do not track you across apps or websites.

Your data and iCloud

All cycle data is stored in your app's private storage on your iPhone. If you have iCloud enabled for Lunara, your data may sync across your own Apple devices via Apple's CloudKit private database. This sync is end-to-end encrypted by Apple and is accessible only to you — not to us. Apple's handling of CloudKit data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in your iPhone's Settings.

Health information

Lunara stores menstrual cycle, flow, symptom, and mood data that you choose to enter. This data is classified as sensitive health information. It stays on your device (and optionally in your private iCloud container) and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Lunara does not currently integrate with Apple Health. If that changes, we will update this policy.

Purchases

Lunara offers a one-time, non-subscription in-app purchase ("Lunara Pro") to unlock predictions and insights. Purchases and restores are handled entirely by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple's handling of transactions is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Local notifications

If you enable period reminders, Lunara schedules local notifications on your device. These notifications are generated and displayed entirely on-device — no data is sent to us.

Children's privacy

Lunara does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Data retention & deletion

Because we never collect or transmit your data, there is nothing for us to retain. All app data stays on your device. You can delete all your data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete all data).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.

The information and estimates provided by the app — including cycle predictions, fertile window estimates, and any other outputs — are for general informational and personal tracking purposes only. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Lunara is not a method of birth control or contraception. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns, reproductive health decisions, or family planning.
