How do I make a sticker?

Tap the "+" button, pick a photo with a clear subject (a person, pet, or object), and Cutout lifts it onto a transparent background. Tap Save and it's added to your sticker library.

How do I send my stickers in iMessage?

First save at least one sticker in the Cutout app. Then open Messages, tap the apps icon next to the text field, and choose Cutout. Your stickers appear in a grid — tap one to send it, or drag it onto a message bubble to place it.

My stickers aren't showing up in Messages.

Make sure you've saved at least one sticker in the main Cutout app first — the Messages extension reads the stickers you've created. If Cutout isn't in the Messages app drawer, tap the "•••" (More) button in the drawer and enable Cutout, or check Messages settings.

Cutout says "no subject found."

The subject lift works best with a clear foreground subject that stands out from the background. Try a photo with more contrast between the subject and what's behind it, or a different photo.

Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?

Never. The entire subject lift happens on your device using Apple's frameworks. Cutout has no servers and makes no network connections with your photos. It even works in airplane mode. See our Privacy Policy.

What does Cutout Pro unlock, and is it a subscription?

Cutout Pro is a one-time purchase — never a subscription. It removes the free-tier limit so you can keep unlimited stickers. The free tier lets you make and send your first few stickers at no cost.

I bought Pro on another device / reinstalled. How do I get it back?

Open the upgrade screen in Cutout and tap Restore Purchases. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID and restores for free.
