Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 9, 2026

The short version: Cutout runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or store any of your data. Your photos never leave your iPhone.

Who we are

Cutout ("the app", "we", "us") is an iOS app that turns your photos into stickers by lifting the subject onto a transparent background, and lets you send those stickers inside iMessage. This policy explains how the app handles your information.

Data we collect

None. Cutout does not collect personal data. Specifically:

Photo library access

To do its job, Cutout asks your permission to access photos you choose. Photos are processed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Vision framework to separate the subject from the background. No photo, sticker, or analysis result is ever sent off your device. When you save a sticker back to your photo library, Cutout asks for add-only permission and the save happens locally through iOS.

The iMessage extension

Cutout includes a Messages app extension so you can send your saved stickers in conversations. The extension only reads the sticker images you have already created, stored in a private shared container on your device. It does not read your messages, contacts, or conversation history, and it sends nothing anywhere except the sticker you choose to place in a message.

Purchases

Cutout offers a one-time, non-subscription in-app purchase ("Cutout Pro") to unlock unlimited stickers. Purchases and restores are handled entirely by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple's handling of transactions is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy

Cutout does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Data retention & security

Because we never collect or transmit your data, there is nothing for us to retain or expose. All app data, stickers, and settings remain on your device under iOS's standard protections.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
